A little celebratory piece for my uploading all the revisions on Le Bonhomme du Minuit. It feels happy yet sad to be completely finished, but I can't express how happy I am to have it completely finished and uploaded after five years of on-and-off work.

It feels really strange to be finished with all the revising for Le Bonhomme du Minuit. At first I thought I was taking on a monumental task to revise a story I wrote years ago, but my labor of love was absolutely worth it. I adore how this story came out, and I’ve fallen in love with the world and characters I’ve created on the page. I’ve developed a huge fondness for New Orleans, its history, and its culture while writing. This was such an amazing exercise (and even calling it an “exercise” feels like I’m underappreciating it).

Though it’s a little sad, it’s time for me to say «au revoir» to Le Bonhomme du Minuit. At the same time, I’m happy. According to today’s horoscope, “Finish what you started. Visualize the future; set your goals, then make them so. Look beyond the immediate. Accept what comes your way now. It’s all part of a cycle.” Who knows what new opportunities and ideas will come my way? I have a few current ideas in mind to focus on, but you’ll have to wait and see what else I have in store.

I'm debating about whether I'll digitally color this or not. I like it as it is, but if I ever feel like doing the digital coloring and find the time to, then I may.

Here's all of the costumes that Jasmine and Cadence wear in Le Bonhomme du Minuit. (loosely left to right; common sense can fill in the rest)

Cadence:
Superdome Employee Uniform (from C17): Cadence tricks a Superdome employee into telling him where the uniforms are kept, and wears this to get close to Aria Roulade. His plan doesn't go as planned, but it is a really cute look on him. Also, Brio is with him in this scene and plays a part in his plan.
Business Suit (from C48): Cadence wears this to impersonate an intern so he can get into an office building to get some important information. White business suits are so quintessentially Southern that he just had to wear white. To be fair it can get brutally hot in the South (over 100 degrees), especially in the summer, so I can see why light-colored suits are popular.
Normal Outfit: Cadence's typical attire. He's the kind of fellow who likes looking at least a little bit dressy wherever he goes. The green brings out his eyes. He also has a fondness for cat iconography. Often Cadence will bring Brio along with him around New Orleans.
Feline Thief C Major: The outfit that Cadence wears as Feline Thief C Major. It's a visual pun; it's a tuxedo themed on a tuxedo cat worn by a cat burglar. I could probably make dozens of puns about C Major, but I'll refrain from that for now.

Jasmine:
Maid Uniform (from C50): Jasmine wears this to infiltrate the Château de la Brume. It's too small for her; she wishes C Major could've found a larger maid to take the costume from, but C Major doesn't mind seeing Jasmine squeezed into a tiny outfit, not at all.
Masquerade Ball Dress (from C25): Jasmine wears this to a masquerade ball at the Longue Vue House and Gardens. She gets in by auditioning for one of the jazz bands playing at the event. Unbeknownst to her, C Major also got in since Alfredo invited him. Interestingly, Cadence sees a saxophonist at a restaurant wearing a similar dress, and wishes he could see Jasmine in a dress like that. A few chapters later, he gets his wish.
Business Suit (from C48): Jasmine wears this to distract the intern that Cadence is posing as. She tricks him into believing that she's an employee taking him to meet his supervisor at a café, and keeps him away while Cadence goes after his quarry. Cadence thinks that Jasmine looks even better in a business suit than Aria Roulade herself.
Feline Thief Costume (she pieces it together over the course of the story, but it appears in full in C56): Her best friend Ana, who is an excellent seamstress, made this for her. She even made it for free, though Jasmine had to pay for the materials.
Normal Outfit: Jasmine's typical attire. Jasmine likes to dress practically but pretty. She has an affinity for short skirts for the freedom of movement they allow and the way they flutter.
Weirdly enough, after I designed her, I actually found a pair of purple cowboy boots that look very similar to hers. Mine are shorter and don't have the cuffs at the top, but they have rhinestones and beautiful silver embroidery. I think mine are prettier than hers.
