Here is the Journal for Project Gijinka and also where you can suggest characters. In a nutshell, the point of it is to guess who the character is, and you could win a prize!

Grr...why is there no Mixed Media fanart category?

With this edition, I really wanted to challenge myself. Nearly all the characters I draw for Project Gijinka have somewhat human-like proportions, so I decided to go with a character who didn't at all. This was actually pretty hard; one of the hardest pictures I've drawn concept-wise. Still, I'm pretty satisfied with the results. He (it?) looks really cute!

Since Fantasy Zone -the series he's from- is known for having vibrant, very distinctive backgrounds, I managed to find a few screenshots online for reference. I especially like the pixelly clouds; it really adds a "retro" feel. 8-)

By the way, Opa-Opa's wings are not supposed to be attached to his body; this is intentional.

For critiquers: I intentionally don't shade; I prefer the look of flat coloring

Thanks! I love it too. :) It's like he's saying "look at me, I can fly!"
