A couple years after the destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina, a mysterious and ancient treasure, the Sinti Lapitta Gorget, is unearthed in the Lower Ninth Ward. Cadence, a meek student by day and the strange yet dashing Feline Thief C Major by night, sets his sights on the gorget, believing it will aid him on his most important mission.
Meanwhile, the lovely saxophonist Jasmine is on her own quest. Armed with only a saxophone and sheet music, she seeks answers about who she is, who she was and who she will be.
In a brief encounter with C Major, she discovers that she has a connection to the gorget, and that their fates are intertwined as well. As they try to unravel their own secrets, they make a breathtaking discovery that could change the fate of the entire city.
Can Cadence and Jasmine sleuth out the answers they need before a powerful evil emerges from the depths of time and is unleashed on the streets of New Orleans?

I've been considering uploading parts of Le Bonhomme du Minuit to DeviantART. I won't upload the whole thing, since if I made any updates, it would be a pain to keep both the DA version and the FictionPress version updated. However, I'll upload a few chapters just to direct some interest over to my FictionPress account.
On a side note, I dislike that DeviantART doesn't have a category for historical fiction outside of "Characters and Settings". Granted, it's debatable if Le Bonhomme du Minuit is historical fiction or not (how long ago does something have to be set to be considered "historical fiction?") and I didn't put it in the historical fiction category on FictionPress (mystery is more of a focus than the historical fiction aspects).
For future reference, if I refer to "the 2009 version", I'm talking about The D.C. Mysteries, which was the original name of this story when I wrote it back in 2009. I moved the setting to New Orleans for a variety of reasons, but aside from that, it's about 95% identical (though better-written and revised).
On a side note, I love scheduling! With this uploaded (at 2 AM), now I have a deviation uploaded at every hour of the day!
